Teachers and youth workers from all over Ireland will gather in Dublin for an event focussed on the teaching of digital creativity and STEM skills to young people.
The Kinia Creative Educator Tech Fest will take place in The Foundry at Google Dublin, and will see more than 200 attendees gather for a series of talks on how to introduce robotics, science, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies into classrooms and youth settings.
Workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions will be held on a range of topics including augmented reality, chemistry, 3D printing and virtual reality experiences in primary and post primary classrooms.
“Kinia is an education focussed non-profit charity and social enterprise, ensuring that future focussed skills and learning opportunities are available for all children and young people,” said Marianne Checkley, CEO of Kinia.
“Educators in all youth settings work incredibly hard to make sure that no young person is left behind in an increasingly complex and digital future – we want to celebrate their learning and give them the recognition they deserve,” she added.
Keynote speakers at today’s ‘tech fest’ will include Dr Patricia Scanlon, founder of Soapbox Labs and the Government’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ambassador, and Mark Little, co-founder of Kinzen, founder of Storyful and a former RTÉ journalist.
