The jury in the trial of Richard Burke for the murder of Jasmine McMonagle has found him not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
The unanimous verdict was returned a short time ago at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Monaghan.
The 32-year-old, of Killygordon in Co Donegal, had pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter.
